Delta makes life easier for a Massachusetts home health care provider

A vital presence in central Massachusetts since 1892, the VNA Care Network consists today of 24 visiting nurse associations dedicated to the needs of home health care and hospice patients throughout the region. With 900 employees - including 400 clinicians in the field - serving 30,000 new clients each year, the VNA faced a number of challenges. Triage required tremendous manpower, and staff members spent hours handwriting patient notes to prepare for visits, both of which meant a hefty payroll. New doctors' orders took time to track and monitor. The storage of paper medical records posed an additional problem: building renovations to the facility that would allow paper records to be stored at the corporate office was estimated at $450,000 and the loss of those records remained a constant risk.

The Encore solution has helped enhance the productivity of VNA clinicians and lower costs over all. Nursing productivity increased by 0.5 visits per day, which, over the course of a year, adds up to over $1 million.
